C.E.A.S.E meeting in Coeburn

35 doesn't sound like a lot. Especially if you are trying to say that those people are representative of Coeburn and St. Paul not supporting the current consolidation plan. And of course the representatives from Pound and Appalachia were at the meetings in those towns...they agree with the objectives of this group!
I'm sure that both of the SB members from Coeburn would be happy to discuss their views on consolidation with THEIR constituents...I just dont' see why C.E.A.S.E. gets to decide the forum.

There were 0 (zero) people from Coeburn that spoke out at the public hearing on the consolidation plan.

Do you people not realize that these reps were elected on a pro-consolidation platform? They won out over non-consolidation opponents. No wait, I guess you people can't figure it out.

Your 0 (zero) people from Coeburn speaking at hearing is incorrect. I was there. Only one of the two was elected and he appointed a relative as the other.

Nolan Kilgore ran on a pro-consolidation platform...he did not make it a secret by any means. And if memory serves me right, he carried all the Coeburn precincts when he was elected.

But you are right...I have heard people from Coeburn speak out against consolidation at various meetings. Of course, I have also heard some speak in favor of it. I will say, however, that Coeburn's residents have not been as vocally opposed to consolidation as those from Appalachia and Pound......or some from Big Stone....only after they found out they might lose a school in their town.

Just seen this, but there's a big difference running and up keeping these schools on a budget, than a private business doing what they want with them on a much higher budget. Yeah, they're in bad enough shape to fix and keep fixing ALL SIX schools, they were talking about one building.
